Purpose

The purpose of The Berks Hispanic Leadership Institute is to encourage

and facilitate the development of leaders within the Hispanic community

by providing an in-depth, comprehensive training to:

  • Develop participants’ leadership skills in communication,

group decision making, team building and collaborating,

conflict resolution, visioning and building a sense of community;

  • Provide opportunities for interested Hispanic citizens to explore

community trends, problems and issues and learn how to effectively

participate in the decision making process; and

  • Increase participants’ understanding of the role of individuals,

government and local organizations in addressing community issues.

The Program

The Berks Hispanic Leadership participants take part in a two year program

that involves a significant commitment of time and energy. But the end results

are priceless! Through guest speakers, practical and hands-on experiences,

individuals will develop new skills, self-confidence and a deeper understanding

of their communities.

Sessions facilitated by a team of trainers from Centro Hispano and the Center

for Community Leadership, will provide you with experiences and exercises that

will broaden your interpersonal and creative skills and leadership abilities.

You’ll also learn more about issues, problems and trends in government,

education, health care, business and other community sectors.
