Three Month Extension of Current Puerto Rico Birth Certificates Enacted to Provide Transition to New, More Secure Documents

In order to protect your identity and your family’s current PR birth certificates will become invalid, effective July 1st 2010. You can request your new birth certificate at www.pr.gov.

***NOTE: Before filling the online application, have a scanned copy of your driver’s license or passport and a credit card at hand, as there is a required $5 fee for the first copy – either if you request it online or through regular mail. (Seniors over 60 and veterans get theirs for FREE!)
