2025 ANNUAL APPEAL CHAIRPERSONS

Centro Hispano has announced that Dena and Vic Hammel will be chairing their 2025 Annual Appeal Giving Campaign. According to Centro’s President and CEO, Mike Toledo, “We are grateful to Dena and Vic for continuing their support of our work through this leadership role.  Their commitment to the city of Reading and our Greater Berks community is laudable and we thank them for including us in their advocacy.”

Dena, a retired dialysis social worker, was a long-time board member of the GoggleWorks. Together with her husband, she co-chaired the Capital campaign for Penn State Berks and co-founded the Hammel Family Human Rights Initiative at Penn State.

Vic Hammel is retired CEO and co-owner of Ehrlich Pest Control.  He formerly served as President of the Jewish Federation of Reading, Board Chair of the Reading Hospital, President of the Greater Berks Food Bank & co chair of Penn State Berks Capital Campaign.

Dena and Vic stated, “We are so impressed with all that Centro Hispano does for the Berks County Hispanic community. It enhances the lives of senior citizens, assures nutrition for youth and adults, provides vocational training, and so much more. We're honored to be working with the people and staff of Centro Hispano and support their invaluable work."
