CENTRO HISPANO RECOGNIZING WORLD HUNGER DAY
Centro Hispano will recognize World Hunger Day with an event featuring free lunches served from their Berks Centro Kitchen and activities to promote healthy eating through support of local farmers. The event will be held at the Casa Senior Center, 25 N. 2nd St., Reading, from 11 am to 2 pm on Wednesday, May 28.
Free lunch will be served as well as a take home meal box for all interested attendees. With the help of The Food Trust, local farms and orchards will be present with stands of fresh fruits and vegetables for sale. Games, raffles and other activities will focus on healthy eating and the benefits of cooking with local produce. The 2025 World Hunger Day slogan is Sowing Resilience. The Berks Centro Kitchen event will focus on supporting local food security by lifting up local farmers and merchants.
